While it’s true that there are over 200 ranking factors that are constantly changing, not keeping on top of it will mean not ranking on search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. You want to optimize your website for both branded and non-branded search. That means putting in the effort to build out your website for search terms relevant to a question your client may be searching for online. You can do this by creating a blog section and tackling one issue/keyword in each post.

Online reviews are one of the defining factors a client looks at when searching for representation, in fact 88% of legal consumers consider a lawyer’s “reputation” one of the top two hiring factors. Prospects want to hear firsthand experiences of clients that have chosen you in the past. It’s not just word of mouth referrals anymore, clients are doing their due-diligence and researching heavily before they choose to contact you, which includes looking for online reviews about you and your firm.

6. Video

Did you know that video receives 1200% more shares than text and images combined? Having videos that showcase you and your firm are a great way to introduce clients to your brand and values. Video can provide the human touch that images and text can’t. Clients are much more likely to engage with your website and content, if you include video.

7. Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

Analyzing your marketing efforts is critical. Keep an eye on what assets or campaigns are driving traffic and conversions. Take a look at the following and make sure to keep track of what campaigns are bringing in:

- Number of Contacts
- Engagement Rate
- Cost Per Lead
- Close Rate
- ROI
- Net Promoter Score or clients’ willingness to recommend your services.
